A wedding in Cancun
Before I delve into Tyler & Tegan’s dream destination wedding photos, we have to have a quick little history briefing here. I want to highlight how special this couple was to me and how special they made me feel throughout our time working together. While they got married in July of 2024 in Cancun, they got engaged right before Valentine’s day in 2023. Tyler saw some of my photos posted through one of his friends and reached out to tell me he was proposing to his then-girlfriend Tegan. After a few calls and emails, I met some of his friends at the construction site of Tyler and Tegan’s new home together. In what would eventually become their living room, there was a set up of flowers, champagne, and a diamond ring waiting for them.
Creepily, I now waited in their empty, not finished home, with my camera, alone. Tyler told Tegan that he wanted to run by the house to check on the updates, but when they got inside, she saw the set-up for a romantic wedding proposal. Below are the photographs.
From their proposal to their engagement photos, Tyler and Tegan made photographing them so fun and easy. They naturally pose in front of the camera by falling into each other and constantly smiling and laughing together.
Now, on to the wedding! I arrived in Cancun a few days before the wedding and met up with Tyler & Tegan. They introduced me to friends and family and everyone was so incredibly welcoming and kind. At the time I photographed this wedding I was 26 weeks pregnant and it’s key that I mention how everyone attending the wedding events made sure I was given food, water, and the chair right from under them! So if you were a guest at this wedding reading this— thank you! I felt so taken care of and like I was a part of the group! I attended and photographed their rehearsal dinner where I sat and ate dinner with Tyler’s parents, sister, and close friends. The day after the wedding, we met up once more and took some fun couple’s portraits on the beach! Below are the wedding photos. :)
